Ward & Partners takes on the world for ellenor

Team members from the 43 branches of ellenor supporter, Ward & Partners, have set themselves the challenge of cycling 18,000 miles ‘around the world’ over the next 12 months, along with colleagues from the other Arun Estate offices. The challenge is being held on two static bikes, being moved between the branches, to raise vital funds for ellenor, which supports families facing terminal illness.
The Faversham office of Ward & Partners was one of the most recent branches to take part. Encouraged by ellenor mascot, Ellie the elephant and Ward & Partner’s Managing Director, David Lench, the team there cycled 328km between them and raised £417 for the charity.
“We wanted to hold a fundraising event which all our branches can take part in,” says Aldo Sotgiu, Regional Managing Director at Ward & Partners. “We also wanted to set a bit of a challenge – to encourage some healthy competition between the branches. As ever, everyone at Ward & Partners is very enthusiastic about supporting ellenor.”
The demand for the services which ellenor offers continues to increase, with a 10% increase in referrals last year. One child or young person is newly referred into its service each week. The team also dealt with 3500 out of hours telephone calls last year – supporting families in their time of need.
“We are incredibly grateful to all the branches of Ward & Partners for their continued support of ellenor,” says Linda Trew, Head of Community at ellenor. “I visited the team at the Faversham branch and they were all putting in lots of effort to raise funds and hit that incredible goal of cycling all round the world.”
