Tunbridge Wells estate agent appointed as an ellenor Ambassador

Tunbridge Wells-based estate agent, Deborah Richards of Maddisons Residential, has been appointed as an Ambassador for ellenor – the charity that provides hospice care for children in their own homes in South West Kent.

Deborah joins a very dedicated and supportive group of Ambassadors in South West Kent, which includes Victoria Sampson, President of West Kent Chamber of Commerce and a corporate lawyer at CooperBurnett – who introduced Deborah to the work which ellenor does for families facing terminal illness.Ambassadors fulfil a vital role, raising the profile of ellenor and representing the charity at a variety of events.

Deborah was previously involved with the Parents’ Association at her children’s school, serving as Chair for a number of years.

“Having stepped back from this role, I wanted to support another charity that I felt passionate about and which centred around a cause which was close to my heart,” says Deborah. “I am a mother of two very healthy children (with a third on the way) and this is something that I never take for granted. ellenor was a clear winner to be my charity of choice for this reason and the fact that it is such a unique, worthy and inspirational charity.”

Based on The Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells, Deborah launched Maddisons Residential three years ago, using her experience of working in the private banking industry and the fact that she’d renovated 50 properties for profit.

“Everything we do is founded on five key principles: excellence, honesty, passion, compassion and innovation,” says Deborah. “We have fabulous success in selling properties that have failed to sell with other agents and gain over 95% of our new instructions from client referrals.”

Deborah has also cemented her relationship with ellenor by pledging to donate £100 to the charity for each completed sale.

“We are absolutely delighted that Deborah has agreed to be an Ambassador for ellenor,” says Martin Street, Area Fundraiser for South West Kent at ellenor. “The demand for our services in South West Kent is increasing all the time, so having key business people in our community raising our profile for us is vital.”

One child or young person is currently newly referred into ellenor’s service each week.

“I am looking forward to spreading the word on the amazing work that ellenor does and meeting with the other Ambassadors to hear their stories on how they support this charity,” says Deborah. “The work ellenor does is incredible and there is such a clear and immediate need for more funds to help more families at such a difficult time in their lives.”

ellenor is holding an open garden at Chilstone of Tunbridge Wells on Saturday 25 June. Visitors can enjoy a wonderful sculpture trail, with 100 exhibits, curated by ellenor Patron, sculptor Guy Portelli. To book tickets, click here:
