The number of drop-in sessions offered by hospice charity ellenor for its young patients across North and West Kent is being expanded to include an Under 5s Fun Club’ in Maidstone. The new club is being held on Mondays at the YMCA in Loose and will include multi-sensory play and storytelling, along with art and craft activities.
The Under 5s Fun Club – which will give children a chance to play and carers an opportunity to relax for a couple of hours - is being made possible by the kind sponsorship of ellenor supporter the Civil Service Insurance Society (CSIS).
“As a local Maidstone company, we are delighted to be supporting this new Drop In for under 5s in the town,” says Kevin Holliday, Chief Executive of CSIS. “We have supported ellenor for a number of years and recognise the fantastic work the charity does, so being able to help the team to run this vital new support service is great.”
ellenor provides children’s hospice at home care to children across South West Kent, North Kent and the London Borough of Bexley – providing care and support, including respite care, into children’s own homes. ellenor currently supports 150 seriously ill children each year – however, more than double that number need its help and demand for the charity’s service is increasing every day.
