ellenor is urging plant lovers to throw open their garden gates to raise vital funds for families facing terminal illness this summer as part of its Glorious Gardens programme.
“It’s a wonderful way to show off your lovely garden to the public – or maybe just catch up with friends and neighbours,” says Area Fundraiser Katie Gardner.
ellenor is the only charity in Kent providing hospice care at home to babies, children and young people, as well as respite care, therapies and counselling.
“People often spend many hours outside, meticulously planting and pruning, so wouldn’t it be lovely if they could share the beauty they have created?” she says.
ellenor is asking people to open their garden on a day of their choosing, either to an invited list of friends, relatives and neighbours - or to the public.
“You could even invite some business colleagues for a bit of networking in a glorious location,” suggests Kate. “The possibilities are endless.”
